I bought a 5-50+ used and have had it for several years now. It's been able to play anything I throw at it. The low end tends to be a bit flabby without dialing in the EQ or using external pedals though, but it's easy to compensate for - considering there's a built-in EQ. A fuzz or overdrive pedal into the mix is about all you'd need, along with perhaps a delay/reverb with more versatility. The footswitch is pretty damn loud though - and the channel switch is somewhat abrupt, which needs some careful planning and finesse. I hear there are some ways to improve this but haven't tried. This amp is a bit of a diamond in the rough, on the cusp of more modern amp solutions like sims, just barely out before that. It's kind of a strange deviation from Mesa's usual - but a good one. Weird they discontinued it. They could do well with it, if it stayed cheaper or same as fenders.

Hmmm, Burst Buckers for the rock and roll win! They sound fat and juicy overdriven. I have a great sounding 2008 Les Paul withBorstbuckers, no need to swap out

I just took delivery of a Chris Rocha broadkaster Jnr made in China flawless in finish. The action. The lowest I’ve ever seen on any guitar even my Setzer hot rod and packed full of goodies like locking tuners and filtertron pick ups. I think the fit and finishes equally as good as its Japanese counterpart. The current five series out of China on a blindfold test against Japanese models you’d have to be a freaking expert to tell them apart. but I’m no player but that’s just my opinion.

They are fat single coils. And it's not all about that bridge position. Neck is beautiful for blues and jazz and also clean. My dream SG is two p90's with the Maestro Vibrato. Wish Epiphone would make that!

This is what I’ve been looking for I think. I general use amp with lots of tones that has seperate eq for each channel. Idk why there are so many 2 channel amps with shared eq

guitar hero but you apply reverb.. Why? the original Leslie sound is a pure amp sounnd it also is the best sound for his style.

Cool beard dude. No pick guard - excellent. Jack on the side of the instrument not top - excellent. Light weight - excellent. Sound - excellent. Overall - pretty good.

I have a Gibson Les Paul - Fender Strat and Teli - Tokai MIJ Les Paul - And I keep going back to the two PRS SE's for live gigs, simply because the necks are absolutely fantastic.

I got to meet Leslie when he was giving guitar lessons in his apartment on the Upper East Side of Manhattan; I was just amazed at how he made the guitar sing. Great Vibrato. Leslie was endorsing the Electra MPC guitars at the time.
